A native of the West Coast (California and Washington State), Harolynne Bobis currently resides in Greece with her husband Michael.
Now working for Elections Services Operations for the Overseas Vote Foundation, Harolynne plays a key role in ensuring that active duty military personnel and their families, as well as eligible expatriate American citizens, are able to cast their votes overseas for the candidates of their choice back in their home states.
Harolynne looks back on a career of more than 30 years of increasingly responsible administrative positions, including a stint in the office of the mayor of Seattle, as well as on the transition team of the then Governor-elect of Washington State, Mike Lowry.
In addition to her professional career,
has been successfully involved in numerous community activities. These include:
- Past President of the Committee for Children, a Seattle-based nonprofit dedicated to the elimination of child sexual exploitation and nonviolent conflict resolution.
- Past President of the Garfield Community Council and former adult liaison with the East Madison (now the Meredith Mathews) YMCA Youth in Government program.
- Past Secretary of the Environmental Grantmakers Association board, a nonprofit affinity group of the Council on Foundations for environmental funders headquartered in New York City.
- Formerly a member of the board of Philanthropy Northwest, a nonprofit regional affinity group of foundations and other grantmakers.
Join us Thursday to be a part of the discussion when Harolynne tells us what took her to Greece, and talks about her life there!
